The collection of knives «Scythians» continues with the animalistic theme. As follows from the name, pieces comprised within this group are close to Scythian art. The series peculiarity is the motif of a wave, appearing on the animal figures, or in some of its parts. The iconic image of Scythian art is a deer. The deer with clenched feet and fantasy horns simultaneously brings to mind the branching tree and slope of a wave and is the most recognizable work of Scythian culture. The knife «Deer» echoes the famous pre-image: the ornamentation of horns comes from a piece of ancient jewellery. However, the artist has simplified the ornateness and kept only the core: little ripples on a water surface, buds on branches coming into bloom. The depiction of a deer conjures up the animal myth, holding the earth, forests, and oceans on its back. Although this sacred image finds embodiment in different animals, such as a turtle, an elephant or a bull, the power of the archetype stays the same.
