The knife reflects the special connection between the Buryat nation and a horse. The Horse of Luck is an image of the Buddhist religion, which carries a wish-granting jewel on its back. It is a symbol of welfare and prosperity, coming in one's life with the horse.
The knife's distinguishing feature is the stylized bridle. Its aspiration to a geometry of the form contrasts with the smooth curves of the horse's head. It seems like the bridle restrains restive steed. The motif of the taming an animal by a man reflects the power of the item's owner. The knife handle has a notch on it for a better grip.
